In our case the skin is known as stingray skin, but it is a pearled skin. A stingray skin does not have this surface with the pearls and is also species protected.
Perleaf skin is not covered by the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and is therefore freely available.
